Default Reality TV show contestants arrested..

..for killing a rat???

I really can't understand this. I see animals killed on shows like Survivor all the time.
How's this any different?

I don't really understand what the problem is animal was killed, and then eaten. They argue it was done for theatrical reasons or whatever, but it's not like they killed it, and then threw the thing away. Pretty ridiculous in my opinion.

What about all the times Fear Factor has buried people alive in dead rats, or something similarly disgusting/ridiculous? Did they arrest the producers?

Sure PETA spoke out, but everyone with half a brain ignores them...

Well, the contradictions are abundant, but I am reading that basically they didn't have a license to do it on camera. In other shows, they obtain these licenses. American shows are different too, this is the UK version of I'm a Celebrity.

I dont really understand what the big deal is about either. If they didnt have a permit, then give them a fine. Who should need a permit to kill a rat?
