Crazy Yes, sorry, HELP, please.

Like a mage overwhelmed by goblins, I've trawled various forums for a solution, and am hoping to find my 'sunfire' somewhere on here.

Love BG2, absolutely love it. I've used DLTCEP briefly, well, to be honest, I'm completely incompetent, able only to create an item. Understand the basics of computers, and pretty well versed in BG2.

Here's what I want to do: I want to change the music in the Order of the Radiant Heart from whatever it is, to James Brown's 'The Boss'. I know. Don't stop reading.

Couple of issues. First, locating the file that's the music for the Order of the Radiant Heart. Second, converting an .mpeg file to an .acm file. Then it's rename, replace, and fingers crossed.

So, is it possible? I'm sure it is. Converting .mpeg to .acm, is however, going to be a pain isn't it? I can't find a program that'll do it. Don't tell me, you can't. An .acm file is something so far removed from an .mpeg, or even a sound file, that I'm going to have to plum the depths of DLTCEP for a couple of months to sort this one out.

Any help would be massively appreciated. You know what it's like, posting on a forum is the last resort. I've looked extensively and simply can't find anything. So thankyou.

Welcome to Ironworks!

This is not a modding communuty, BUT one of our members does do mods. His name is the Six of Spades. He checks these boards regularly, and I'm sure he can lead you to the proper modding community.

Go here..

This claims to be a free .mpeg to .wav converter. If this program does indeed work,,then you can use DLTCEP to convert .wav to .acm.

Thanks very much ElfBane, really appreciate it. I'll try and get in contact with SixofSpades, as you suggest, as my knowledge of DLTCEP is extremely limited. The .mpeg to .wav program has worked, so thanks again.

For ease of use, you can get the Infinity Sound Converter. I've used it to convert .acm files to .wav files, but it can apparently convert .wav files to .acm files as well.

Go here and scroll down to ISC. It should work, and it's pretty easy to use.
PLAY THIS GAME. Seriously.

Thanks alot, the program seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. However! I find the .wav I want to convert to .acm (or vice versa), I can view its details, play it, but when I go to convert it, it asks me to 'specify output file' which is, I assume, where I want to save the new file to. I type a new name for it, and two pop ups appear - 'file not found', followed by, 'file successfully converted'. I'm left with nothing. I've tried specifying the current file location, incase it doesn't copy, but overwrites the current file, but the same thing happens.

I assume I'm just being completely stupid, but do you know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for your help with this Illumina.

DLTCEP is something of a beast to use (it has a lot of bells & whistles), but once you get the hang of it it's straightforward enough. You can download it from here:
And read a tutorial on it here:

True, you could probably just send your .WAV to somebody who already knows DLTCEP, and they can convert it, and send it back to you, but that would take just as much time/effort as getting DLTCEP for yourself, and besides, you may very well need DLTCEP to put the completed .ACM into a musiclist anyway. (It might not be as simple as renaming a file, I've never messed with the music.)

ElfBane was a bit too kind--To date, I have done "mod." I hassle and nag other modders with their projects as well, of course, but that's not the same thing.

If you have any further modding questions, go to either Pocket Plane Forums:
Or the Gibberlings Three:
Most questions you could possibly have have already been answered, there's probably even a tutorial on the subject.
