first question : no you shoudnt. jaheria is far better, except as a spell cater. she gets more weapon profs, hps, and is a far better fighter.

Don't listen to him! I am a minority but I quite like Cernd. In Werewolf mode (especially Greater Werewolf mode) he kicks some serious arse. And he is a better spell caster. Plus he comes out with some of the weirdest stuff...

You have to open op the Trademeet quest to get him first. Talk to a guy in the middle of the Gate district to get that.

fine, fine, fine.

im not getting into an argument with the originator of "more radical than voodoo"

but, really what use is a druid as a spellcaster. and i wereworlf mode he gets outclassed by jaheira esp in the later stages. hmmm, i feel a druid duel coming on.

pre tob there was no reason at all to take cernd.

in tob he rocks. and i felt he was far superior to jaheria once the level 14 restriction was lifted.

Jaheira doesn't have the HPs at high levels for a good fighter. She may be able to wear armour but when she takes damage it really hurts. Cernd not only has Con 25 in Greater Werewolf form but he regenerates. He has a ridiculous strength and Thac0 as well. His major problem is a lack of armour but he has a naturally low AC as a Werewolf and certain items can help (although my other posts about item reliant chars are probably applicable here). I suppose the main reason I like him is because I think Jaheira is far too snappy. It may have been said before but only because it is true...

OK then - I really need to get ToB. Are there any new NPCs in it by the way?

Fair enough then - I get the picture. I really want to see just how high my Necromancer can go in levels. High level Wizards are quite funny really, nothing gets close unless it is wearing enough magical protection to weigh down an Elephant.
