Here is a link to a story on ABC news today:
http://abcnews.go.com/sections/wnt/D...ium020911.html

Seems they attempted to smuggle a suitcase of depleted uranium from Istambul, Turkey to New York city. Unbelievable...we should be doing better.

Just last night our local news reported 300 poounds of explosives had been stolen from a Houston based company and that the FBI had sent word to Texas officials to "keep an eye out for them"

We can't watch everyone everwhere all the time and I think it is still going to take some time to get national security tighter...only yesterday were security officers at San Antonio airport replaced with government security employees.
This is all going to take time.

EDIT: I saw the piece but couldn't quite hear what was being said, but after reading the article you posted, I think the media investigators who set that up should be arrested. They are only serving to escalate the terror.

I was debating with myself whether or not to post about this story. Yes, he did it, to check out the security of the borders, ports, etc.

Bottom line: if this doesn't scare the blankety-blank out of you, then it should.

I did seem a little extreme to do all this. I'm sure of the true motives of it either. I would hope it was to show where we need to do better and not to start a wave of fear.

If it does instill fear, I wonder if the act could be construed as an act of terrorism.

Hmmm..now I wonder if my posting this thread and bringing attention to the story might be considered a form of terrorism.

I heard on NBC news tonight that the US Coast Guard has turned a freighter headed to New York Harbor around, because they detected unusual radioactive being emitted from it. NBC News reported that they were going to hold the freighter of the coast until a special nuclear team could check it out. I figure that is one of the NEST teams from the Nuclear Regulatory Agency. I understand that they are now teamed with US Navy Seals. SCARY!

Not likely. I mean if our media is as filtered as everyone says it is then there would have to have been some form of governmental approval for it to have even been aired.
Relax babes, its all good,
