I think we should sodomize him with an irate pocupine! Followed by large specimens of prickly pear cacti!

Denile is an ugly thing. He has and has already used bio-weapons. He used them on the Kurds. It doesn't take a missle to use bio-weapons. Botulism is his favorite one (it's what he has used in the past) and it is simple to dispurse (compared to others),and cheap to make. The US has a policy to react to situations not prevent them, with the use of military power. The CIA is supposed to deal with threats covertly but we don't use our military power to prevent attacks. Just like 9-11 we will wait until more people die until we react.

It is odd that most of the people who are for getting him out are the ones from the US and those for leaving him alone are in other contries. The US is a target for terrorism more so then European contries because we are the ones that everyone comes to when another contry is kicking their butt or threatening them with military force.(WW1, WW2, Korea, Kuwait), so we have gathered enemies. As with NATO the US is heavly depended on to supply military power, where others are lacking in a military.

9-11 was by far not the first attack and will most likely not be the last. How many of us have to die before we clean them out. Also who will be next if they do eventualy take out the US (no government is forever)? Why wait until it happens when you can fix it before it happens? Or happens again? I bet the folks in the trade towers wish we would have done something before and not waited until now.

Barry here's an interesting article from 1997 about Saddam's refusal to comply with the UN inspectors, starting with the 4 day stand-off after only two months of inspections. Only two months after the inspections began, Saddam began to ignore UN authority and has continued to do it for 11 years and yet people want to lift the sanctions and say why pick on Iraq now.

Anyway, the article's only a couple of pages long (narrow single column so it won't take long), but worth the reading.

Oh my GOD!!! We agree....maybe for different reasons though...in my eyes sanctions don't hurt anyone but the common people on the street. Hussein will still be living in luxury.

It's all money; and seeing as how our bombings keep the Iraquis out of the world scene, I don't think they'll be stopped. As long as Iraq stays with a shattered infrastructure, more money goes to the US for our goods and services.

The bombings should be let up and Iraq should be able to have some democracy without US serving as Big Brother. Like Barry said, they're no threat. They couldn't fire those weapons even if they had them, and they don't.

Saddam was funded by the USA no one has denied that, but you also have to admit that he doublecrossed the USA. The plan was to help him and hope to get him to moderate his more vicious tendancies by tempting him with goods, services and money from the west. Unforttunatley he turned out to be a total dick and it all went down the tubes.

Unfortunately, we lack a cause for war. Dubyah's daddy should have marched right in and killed Hussain on the spot, no war trials (that would be a spectacle that Sadam would have great fun manipulating). Dark mumbling and threats are exactly the wrong thing to do, IMO, and that's what Dubyah's folks are doing, now. Either go in and take him out, and suffer the consequences on the world stage--which could be massive--or send in a few small, elite troops to try and take the basta!d out; or leave him alone, lift sanctions, and watch Hussain very, very carefully. Just my two cents.

That's sort of howI see it, although I think if possible to capture him they should've tried him for war crimes rather than just kill, but otherwise very similar.
All this being brought back up seems a bit late to me, it should have been done when America had the opportunity, but since they didn't take it, the best they can do is monitor him nice and close.

On the whole NORO Im pretty certain we have done more to help the world than to mess it up, the USA is the major motivator and driving force behind bettering the human condition but know we arent perfect. At least WE are doing SOMEthing We could sit on our arses and keep our money and our goods for ourselves. We could just allow the OTHER murdering bastards kill people....yeah some times we screw up, but then agaion, hind sight is always 20/20 and like I said else where, its easy to criticize those who do something while sitting back and doing nothing.

To the Leave "Sodamn Insane" alone crowd:
Here are a couple of links to comments made by Dr. Khidir Hamza, one time head of the Iraqi Nuclear Weapons Program. Dr. Hamza escaped Iraq in 1995.

I'm not a sophisticated metropolitan citizen, I'm just a simple country boy. But, I learned a long time ago that if you suspect that there is something going on in the hen house. Your Guard Dog says "everything is ok", and the Fox says "I'm taking chickens right and left". You'd be wiser to listen to the Fox.
