New Diablo type RPG coming - Titan Quest

This reminds me of Darkstone in a way--and I enjoyed Darkstone for what it was--a hack and slash RPG.

I just finished the demo. I can't believe how much they copied Diablo. They even have shrines, dual weapon set with the same shortcut key...

I liked the game, I'll probably get it. But there was a few problems with the demo I hope are fixed in the complete game. The two rare weapon I got had no model and I looked like I was attacking but I had no weapon. One was a cleaver and the other a bow. The game shadows had some visual problems too.

I really didn't like that they set the level cap for the demo at 6. I got that halfway trough and the second half was really boring because of that. It's not fun killing tons of ennemies if you get nothing out of it. If there was no level cap, I think I would have ended up level 9-10.

Bah! I tried the demo but it just says "tag not found" on all icons. Anyone who knows what this is?

It's because of the game setting its language to the language of your OS (and the game doesn't support just that language). Open [...]Titan Quest Demo\Settings\defaults.txt and add the line 'language = English' and open My Documents\My Games\Titan Quest Demo\Settings\options.txt , find the lagnuage-line and change it so it says English there as well. That did the trick for me 'tleast.

And yeah. Only thing - other than pretty graphics - in the demo that's different from Diablo II is the skills system, and you can't really tell if it's good from the first 6 levels [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I might get it, but I'll probably wait until it's gone quite cheap, unless the editor for it is really good, or the multiplayer bit'd happen to work on my quite dumb (all UDP traffic blocked) connection...

The takedown special move of the hunter is pretty cool tho. Them satyrs sure can fly for quite a distance [img]smile.gif[/img]

I got my warrior a skill I forgot the name of, but basically, every time I attack, I get a bonus % to damage, it keep raising nine times, so at the end I had something like 110% damage to attack. Monsters were flying all over the screen.

I got that skill, and an horn (battle cry) skill that stun all ennemies for 2-3 seconds, I'd charge in, use the horn, then keep hitting, after the first 9 hits everything died in one hit and was sent trough the screen.

Of course it helped that I had two rare weapons with a dps twice that of regular weapons. [img]tongue.gif[/img]
