It is called the Forsaken House, part one of the Last Mythal trilogy. It offers a new realm of unexplored elven lore, featuring "Sun elves", who are supposedly the bad guys in this story.

interesting, I always found sun elves to be rather intriguing (at least ever since I read Vampire of the Mists, about Jander Sunstar - sun elf vampire), sounds interesting, but I'm curious how it's going to work out...
