Moving data to another PC?
I'm trying to move my game data to a different machine, but it appears that ROSTER.DAT doesn't have everything one needs to maintain his place in the world (I'm in Brimloch and, after adding everybody in the Inn and leaving, who should show up but Gareth, whining about something having happened?). What other files do I need to copy to keep my place, so to speak?
Would it be easier to just start up the game on the old machine, leave town and save and transfer the savegame itself? |

Re: Moving data to another PC?
roster.dat and your save game files should cover it. Did you move both of them over?

Re: Moving data to another PC?
Roster dat is not a save game file, it records the personal details of a PC and that is about it. I didn't succeed in totally decrypting it but I am fairly sure that it is no substitute for the save files.

Re: Moving data to another PC?
It's definitely not a substitute. You need both... roster.dat and your savegame files.

Re: Moving data to another PC?
As far as I have been able to tell when you load a save game it restores the raster.dat file to the state it was in at the time of the save.
So you may only need the save file. The save file is stored in the save directory (in case that was not understood.) |

Re: Moving data to another PC?
That may be... but I know I've kept multiple different save games and switched between them.
Razorgrin, has any of this worked for you?
