I love Axis and Allies. I remember one late night spent "studying" for a WWII test in college over a game of Axis and Allies. We did poorly on the test but had tons of fun.
How old is the computer version? You think it's still available in stores or do I have to (*gasp*) resort to e(satan)Bay? |

Timber you can buy it on Amazon.com . I'd advise to buy used if possible to save money. Lots of times you can get the gamebox, manual, and all for half-price. I buy and sell, so I know.
Either way, make sure you get the 1.33 patch for A&A. EDIT - Remember, if you use XP the music will be unusable. [ 02-16-2003, 06:45 PM: Message edited by: Ronn_Bman ]

I love that board game! It is alot of fun and challenging!
I own both the computer versions and the board game and I must say that the PC Iron Blitz edition scenarios are alot of fun and the new units make it a different game than the original. In both computer versions, the A.I. grows dumber the longer the game runs and rarely plays a creative opening, so I grow bored with the game fairly quickly although I have yet to play it multi. I miss the days past of all-night A&A sessions!

Thanks for the replies everyone. Its sounds pretty fun, too bad its 40 dollars..I dont think my parents would spend 40 dollars on a board game they would most likley never play.

DJ I actually had the boardgame, Shogun, but couldn't interest my friends. Apparently, by the time I bought it, they all were tired of me finding games that took entire weekends to play...lol. I eventually sold it in complete MINT condition.
Did you ever play the Shogun computer game? I heard it rated pretty well, and it's in the discount bins now, so I've been thinking about picking it up. Is it any good?
