Explore the rest of the seas on this side of Anephas's Shrine. Talk to Oakenmir, kill gineling, etc. Complete the quests at hand. Then go to Anephas's Shrine. Be aware of the wizard guild quest problem... The "seed of the living tree quest" and the "destroy magical aegis quest" were somehow put in the wrong order, so if you go to Anephas's Shrine without having tree-surfed to the Lost Sea area to retrieve some seeds you will never get the aegis quest.

For more information on this check Sazerac's excellent post on the problem with these two quests. And this passage on Xignal's Site on how to tree surf.

If you are using your ship - do be careful with it down in the southwest portion where Talrik is to be found. That is the one place where your ship can get stuck. We have ways of fixing that but it's easier to avoid the problem!

Yep... all is not lost. You can:

1. Swim a ways from your ship, cast create portal, get on the ship, and cast teleport. That will take you and the ship to that teleport spot.

2. Forget the ship. It lets you go almost as fast as swimming...

The ship really isn't that useful, all things considered.

Maybe Vanish may work as well...But yea...it goes as fast as swimming, but it sounds cooler doesn't it?

Oh, yeah... I forgot Vanish. Just make sure you've boarded the ship, and you're not just on the ship...
