Glad these forums are here... need some more help.

Am down in the dungeon, happily wiping out all the vampires
and have found a waterway with a locked gate but can't find
where the winglatch/button is to open it.

Have also found a room with an entrance to a waterway in the
middle of the room. (A winglatch lifts the cover off)

Thirdly, I found a button in a room (button was behind a stack
of crates that were stacked 3 high) that I have no clue what
it does.

Any info would be appreciated

Managed, through using saves, to explore the waterway & found the latch that opened the gate.
(Turned out the first two were linked and had to
jump in the opened water cover)

As for the button I found, have been round & round,
and have no clue on that one.

Hmmmm... Those things almost always open a door or secret passage. You can check Bsftcs' maps (check the sticky link at the top of the forum page), or you can look at Xignal's site.

Exactly so. The button you are referring to opens a small underwater room in the pool underneath the suspended stone slabs. I believe my maps detail every single room in the game.
