i like green tea
but it just isn't as good here, as it is in japan
i guess you need good tea and the proper equipment eg that wooden whisk like stiring thing etc

anyway, yeah, caffeine is addictive, but not much, and it does no real harm.

hey while we're on this subject, i remember being told a while ago about caffeine making your heart beat faster, this i don't doubt, but what i do doubt is that, i was also told the the heart has a certain number of beats in it's lifetime, and that consuming caffeine will lower life expectance and lead to premature heart attack.

so is that true?
and if so why doesn't exercise lead to heart attack, in my opinion that story crap, but i am curious.

The heart has no limit on BPL (beats per lifetime). Too much caffeine *might* affect life expectancy, but that's for those who drink 8+ cups a day. Stress is a bigger factor in heart attacks, and people who drink that much coffee are usually under lots of stress. It's not necessarily the caffeine causing the problems. That said, though, I'd try to keep coffee/tea/cola consumption to under 4 cups a day.

Don't know about that, heard quite a bit of people keeled over from drinking Red Bull.

theres another topic on red bull i think already, red bulls problem wasnt caffeine killing you it was something else i forget what.

Anyhow, Caffeine is addictive as your brain will start getting used to having it attached to the various molecules. So when you stop taking it you get headaches as someone mentioned. Other than that caffeine is actually good for your diet. I think one site said it helps you burn fat or something.

Actually, there is nothing good about caffeine in your system except for it's ability as a stimulant. For people with "finicky" digestive tracts, the stimulant affect helps towards purgative action. It also leaches calcium from your bones so that you are more prone to osteoporosis as you get older. It makes people in high stress situations hypertensive and does create heart palpitations (although the affect of such palpitations varies with differing physiologies)

It doesn't help burn fat. Only thing that helps burn fat is your muscle tissues.

Oh yeah... and it's highly addictive for those that consistently consume ample quantities (in the form of colas, coffee or tea), but easier to break that addiction compared to others (i.e., alcohol, nicotine, various drugs, etc.)
