Default Trolls, round two...

You probably know about the trolls in Kansas who think that somehow protesting at people's funerals will make the bereaved appreciate the trolls' position. And you've probably heard about the troll in Florida who burned a Koran last month, after which some people took offense and killed several UN workers.

He's now coming to protest in Dearborn, MI, this Friday.

Why Friday? It's Good Friday... apparently, he didn't think anyone would show up on Easter Sunday.

Why Dearborn? It hold the largest Arabic population in the US, and I believe outside the Middle East.

AFAIK, all of the religious leaders in the Dearborn and Detroit areas (Dearborn being a suburb of Detroit) are allied against the troll, encouraging him to stay away. I have not heard of one encouraging him to come along.

Details here for those interested in more details.

Like the trolls in Kansas, he's the leader of a tiny church who's found a way to get his extremist view politicized and publicized. And like the trolls in Kansas, I wish that the media would just stop feeding him.

Bah, they bore me now. The shock factor wears off pretty quick. Guess that is why they are always trying to find ways to re-invent their antics.

Anyone want to chip in to buy him a one way ticket to a random country in the Middle East?

Err for clarification: By 'him' I mean Mr. Jones. Just to avoid confusion.

Most likely there'll be a strong police presence - wonder if they can send the bill to the or his church...

This sums it up for me:

"The desecrating of holy scripture of any faith is reprehensible," said Richard Nodel, president of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Metropolitan Detroit. "When it's done by a member of the clergy, it's sinful. We urge Rev. Jones to cancel this despicable act. His hatred and actions are not welcome in our community."

If anything, this guy is an even bigger idiot than Troll #1, even though he is little more than a wannabe in comparison.

Jury's still out (literally) on whether or not he can do this protest today, but in related news, the Florida Troll was getting into his car after a TV interview last night when the .40 caliber pistol he was packing accidentally went off, putting a hole in the floorboards of his (rental?) car.

Police were nearby and investigated, and both he and his driver were packing heat. Both have Florida CCW permits, which are recognized in Michigan, and no crime was committed (other than potentially stupidity, but that was merely proven)..

Happily, there's been an interfaith counterprotest staged. I know which one I'd rather see get publicized....

It just had to miss his foot didn't it? I mean it would have been pure gold if it had hit. Certainly would have earned him a spot on "smoking guns world's dumbest..."

The prescription, as diagnosed by Dr Kez :

Step 1 - during the day, Kansas troll and Florida troll are locked in a large cage, where they proceed to whack the absolute BeeGeezus ("Stayin' alive, stayin' alive") out of each other.

Step 2 - at night, the trolls regenerate

Step 3 - repeat steps 1 and 2 indefinately

The interwebz aren't ablaze with followers petitioning for official martyrdom status of their fallen leaders, so i guess that means they weren't killed.
