OK, i have spare time on my hands... shoot me

In idf armoured corpse there is the following superstition: Do not under ANY circumstances wear red underwear. If you do bad things would happen to you or your tank crew.

I laughed about it like any other average person when i heard it the first time.

Than i accidentally wore red underware. The following things happened:

My gunner missed all the targets during practice.
Commanders ABC broke down, fell and was smashed with the turret.
Upper machineguns refused to work, and when they did they get stuck after 10 bullets.
Coaxial worked but it shot only in semi automatic mode (one bullet per time. i had to cock it regulary. The reason is still unknown. It was clean though).
It rained and my antirain suit got ripped open with some nail.
My captain announced that it was the worst result that he ever saw.

But, hey, you know, could be a circumstance...right?

From that day on i was very cautious and did not wear red underwear.

Others were not so lucky.

Two friends of mine had to put their track back to place, because it had slipped from the wheels. Both wore red underwear.

Another friend of mine almost lost his leg in an accident in which turret was involved. He also wore red underwear.

So, share please your superstitions that work on a regular basis...

It's because Jebelnarg, the cruel god of unlikely chains of events, has cursed you. In no way related to the color of your underwear.

Jebelnarg? More likely it is some god that hates red underwear.

We had god of hangover, The Socks Eater, and creatures that steal all the clean towels. Quite obviously there is some loose belief in the world.

Terry Pratchett fans should understand me.

Dont forget the verruca gnome!

AS for superstitions, I never walk under ladders, and so far...well I'm still alive?

...and the chord/rope gremlins...You know, the ones that sneak in when nobody is looking, and tangles up all the chords and ropes.

Is that the he who ties knots on necklaces that's lying perfectly straight, all by themselves, in a sealed box?
I hate that guy.

Gnomes! Bloody gnomes! They frequently steal electronics from my home. Cell phone, video and audio cassette tapes, even power cords. I mean, power cords, come on! And if they can't take it with 'em, they sabotage it: tv, vacuum cleaner, my wife's computer, electric fans. I suspect that's why our dogs bark in the middle of the night. Leaving used batteris out seems to throw them off though. Batteries will disappear but the other stuff stays intact. Occasionally they steal a dirty sock instead of used batteries.

My wife was skeptical in the beginning, but she's starting to believe.

I think those gnomes are related to the chord gremlins...Or maybe they attack in tandem.
