Hello, I'm new here. I have one question for you guys. I own Icewind dale 1 & 2, and Baldurs Gate 2. I have finished them both and think theyre the best games ever. My question is that I love these type of games alot and recieved a gift certificate for best buy for x-mas. I wanted to buy a new game but I wanted something similar to these types of games because theyre so much fun. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Iv'e seen Diablo 1 & 2 at a friedns and it looked kinda similar but i dunno if its any good. Also the new D&D heros I heard was good but I dunno. I wanna purchase a game that'll be awesome and not get boring after 2 days.

There are a very large number of threads around here on this subject. Try this one:
http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/cg...2;t=000768;p=1 To summarise, we all sudgest Fallout 2, altho the other games are cool. Why not consider Baldur's Gate 1?

I'll move this thread to the Miscellaneous Games forum, you'll get a lot more suggestions over there.

Yep, you'll get some good recommendations from the thread BoB refers to.
Baldurs Gate 1, Neverwinter Nights, Planescape: Torment, Morrowind and the Fallout games are all very good games. What you should choose is a matter of taste.

Oh my freaking god people! Not one and I mean not one of you said a greeting!
WELCOME TO IRONWORKS (IW) Acoustic Ferret and now at the topic at hand. I strongly suggest you play Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It may not take place in medieval times but it's rules are similar to the 3rd Edition D&D. The story is not good no no. It's AWESOME I just got it for Christmas and I've been playing it non stop. Do not buy Diablo 1 or 2. In my opinion the game is horrible absoloutely a big piece of bantha poo doo. All you freaking do is click on the freaking mouse quickily to destroy your enenmy. And there is hardly a story. And on Neverwinter Nights. In my opinion it's OK. It doesn't have the best story around and definitely not a good ending. But fighting many side quests make up for that. I suggest borrowing it from a friend. Morrorwind is a very good game. It has a huge huge world. First Person but still it's just amazing. It gives you an adventurer feel. Enjoy your stay at Ironworks!

I dont know about you, but im gonna buy Star Wars...looks just too awesome to miss!
If you havent played bg1, then you should definately try it. a little slowish start for the game, but it gets better. and, you can get it and its expansion for about 20$! I can also warmly suggest Planescape: Torment. It has arguably the best storyline of all time(!), but this taxes the combat. the combat isnt the thing for Planescape, so if you like hack n' slash, this might not be the game for you.

How about FPVRPG like Wizardry 8, Wizards and Warriors or even Might and Magic series. they are good too. I believe Gothic 2 is same one as well if I'm not mistaken.
ps. This is the first time I see Luvian using his modding powers. |
