Giving Grave Bind to edited Valkyries
In the official game the chance to become a Valkyrie is only given late in the game, unless you use the W&W Editor. Now the current edition of the Editor does not handle the giving of traits. If you use the editor to turn a PC into a Valkyrie, you won’t be able to impart the Grave Bind trait. Use Fendris's Editor, see post below.
(Edit: Most of my original post has now been deleted, as it is no longer relevant, after the post immediately below.) From the Editor readme file: “The displayed level of the character is the actual level, which means if you change his role he will be in the same level in the new role, but the old level will not be saved in the characters biography.” It might be simplest to give the female PC (prospective Valkyrie) a new class in the usual way while still playing W&W. This ensures that her previous class level is correctly recorded. For the temporary new class, any class will do, preferably a class that is easy to acquire, unlike the Monk class. The moment the new class is acquired, stop playing the game and start up the Editor. Last edited by Shadow Stranger; 01-06-2008 at 08:25 PM. |

Re: Giving Grave Bind to edited Valkyries
The editor you're using is the Frederic's from '01, WWEdit.exe. The one I'm talking about is Fendris's, from '00. It edits Roster.dat & lets you add/subtract traits.
Let me find a spot to upload the Fendris editor (his site www.urtools.de has been taken offline). *edit* Nevermind, Abby Cheats has it! http://www.abby-cheat.com/modules.ph...=show&lid=1205 Last edited by aleph_null1; 01-06-2008 at 05:20 PM. |

Re: Giving Grave Bind to edited Valkyries
If this Editor by Fendris is any good perhaps it should be added to the Downloads page of the Wizards & Warriors site. Currently only Frederic's trait - less editor is mentioned.
Edit: It seems that Fendris's Editor does not cover the changing of classes, but Frederic's editor does. Thus use of both editors might be necessary. What the Editors can alter: Fendris: Roster.dat Editor The eight attributes “Stats” Hit points, current and maximum Gold Experience Six spellbook current and maximum mana Skills Traits Frederic: WWEdit The eight attributes. XP, level, max hp, current hp, Role, Guild levels, gold, The skills Thus Roster.dat Editor is only needed for Traits or Mana. Hex – Editing How to do this: see post on decrypting save game files http://www.ironworksforum.com/forum/...ad.php?t=98389. This is for things not covered by the two editors above. Race, gender, individual spells known, items (The only good thing about hex – editing is that you don’t need to bother taking characters out of the party at the inn. You can immediately edit any save file at will.) Note: the Fendris Editor has Traits spelled as “Treats”. The offending word is located at place 646D = 25,709.
