Awww, he's cute! Funny how they have hair when they are babies. Didn't know the National Zoo was getting a new member of their Elephant family, I'll have to take some time before it gets winter to go and see him/her

Aww, also check out

There are estimated to be less than 300 of these cute guys still around

In case you were wondering, it's a Sumatran (Hairy) Rhino

Wow! That is a hairly little guy True_Moose No birds on its back! I wonder how they wash these hairy ones?

Lady Z, It was so funny when we went to see it.(him/her?). We caught them at feeding time while the greenage was plush
The keepers were hauling greenage stalks past the main elephant quaters totally stirring up the occupants causing a feeding frenzy. Watch out when you go

True Moose - Awww that baby rhino is cute too! Again funny how they have hair when littluns. It is sad that there are only so few of them left, I reckon it is because of hunting/poaching?

Conan - I'll have to go see! I love seeing the Elephants at the National Zoo, it is so cool seeing one of them up close. And yeah, I know what you mean re wanting to set them free.

Conan - Wish I could've seen it. Our zoo's nice, but nothing like the ones down there. I went to the ones in Seattle and San Diego and, well, whoa dude!

LZ - Destruction of habitat. 90% of endangered species are endangered because of that.

Edit: That's a fully grown one, BTW

Hey Sir T! We knew that already!

I went to Baltimore's aquarium also fairly recently. I put together a short film clip if anyone wants to see it let me know. Came out really well considering the lighting and glare on the tank fronts.
It was a little tough pushing the people out of my way filming though

Defend and support our wildlife everyone!
