Well, this is why I use IW.

I am male, and I didnt think it meant any of those things...I was led to believe it meant Heartbreaker. So it wasnt a love tattoo, lol, it was one just about me being who I am, the good looking jack the lad!

So, thats now out of the window!

And Felix, don't post in my threads again. I didnt ask for a lecture on regretting tattoos.....this wont be my first tattoo, it wont be my last. All my others can be covered if I want them too. So can this one, in a long sleeved shirt, and considering Englands climate that isnt a problem.

To answer your other question, I want it on my forearm BECAUSE THATS WHERE I WANT IT. Ok?

Ok, back to the nice people on here :

Arledrian, thanx for your concern buddy, but I have a job sorted for life. I'm a marine engineer, so tattoos arent really a problem, and thats what im trained in so I'll be doing that for a while. Either that or car mechanics lol. Thanx anyway dude!

When I get it done, I wont tell anyone what it means, I just want it for myself, no-one elses benefit.

Ok, so that doesnt mean Heartbreaker - so, please could you translate these -

1) Idea 1 - Half up one forearm, half up the other

2) Idea 2 - Just up the left forearm

3) Idea 3 - Up the left forearm

Thanx guys!

Well, sounds like you've gotten everything all sorted out and on the rails, so go ahead and break a leg, Brad. Just stop by the tattoo shop itself if you're not sure exactly what combination of symbols to get, they should have loads of designs right there. That way you'll also know exactly what it all means. Let us know how it goes and what you got done.

1. Zhi yao qu tan suo , mei wu shuo bu zhai
- As long as you dare to look for answers, you won't be afraid of anything.

2. Tian shi sou hu zhe wo
- Angels protect me.

3. Zhui qiu wan mei de ren sheng
- Going after a beautiful lifestyle.

I like the 3rd one. it's nice.

Kakero, are you sure thats what they say?

Only the 2nd one matches the translation I have.

I were told they were

1) Everything Has Beauty, But Not Everyone Sees It

2) Angels Watch Over Me

3)Live Live To The Fullest

So, as you can see, only number 2 matches, which was my favourite anyway.

Are they definately correct?

Could they be from a different Chinese lanaguage? I know there is a few! This is in Pinyin correct?

Here is the characters I were told they were:

1) Chinese Pinyin: zhi3 yao4 qu4 tan4 suo3, mei3 wu2 suo3 bu2 zai4

2) Chinese Pinyin: tian1 shi3 shou3 hu4 zhe wo3

3) Chinese Pinyin: zhui1 qiu2 wan2 mei3 de ren2 sheng1

Are your translations definately correct, or are these correct in a different language?

The bit I dont understand, is the characters I have and that you have listed are the same, except mine have numbers after them. Why? Does this alter the meaning of the word?

Please help Kakero cos this is going on my arm soon, and I want it to be right!

Which of the phrases do you like?

I do like No.2.

And No.1

Let me break them up..

1.
Zhi Yao - As long as
qu - go
Tan Suo - searching answers for your problem
Mei - Beauty
Wu Shuo bu zhai - Doesn't matter how it is.

Note : The second sentense got an " an yu ". meaning it got a deeper meaning. The " mei " there doesn't really mean beauty. so..

I translate it as " As long as you dare to look for answers, you won't be afraid of anything "

3.
zhui qiu - searching for
wan mei - perfect
de - 's
ren sheng - lifestyle

that's why I translate it as " Going after a beautiful lifestyle "

There are the same language. Ie chinese. it's how you pronounce it is different. example what I pronounce it is in Mandirin. some people will pronounce it in Cantonese.

For Example - Me -> Wo ( Mandirin ) -> Or ( Cantonese )

Actually the numbers is substitute. The real one is these symbols
1 -> -
2 -> /
3 -> \/
4 -> \
you put these at the pin yin's a,e,i,o,u ( if the pin yin got two of those ie a and e, you put it accrdoing to the a,e,i,o,u rule)

The numbers that you listed is the way you pronounce them. For example..( refer to my symbols )
Tian1 - you speak the tian in a flat voice.
Tian2 - you speak the tian in a going up a hill voice.
Tian3 - you speak the tian in a going down a hill and then going up.
Tian4 - you speak the tian in a going down a hill.

I like no.3. The no.2 sound as if I'm being haunted by something and I need the angels protection and that's what I sometimes see in a yellow chinese charm anyway . No.1 is too long imo.

Excuse me?

We are not drab at all. We are one of the roudiest nations going, do you not watch the news? Lol, we are always in trouble for something.

Where are you from? I'm very well travelled, and I'd like to know which "spot in the desert your from".

Do not post racist comments about me and the fellow english, because its one thing I cannot stand, having people insult others countries, just because they are hiding behind a computer screen.
