I'm thinking about starting a totally new magic user character but i have 2 questions first

1) which mage has access to the most amount of spells? Like i heard it was conjurer but I'm not sure

2) which is the best specialized mage out of them all? (like best magics, most powerful, etc)??

None of the specs are good. Go for a real, pure one with access to all spells!
That little extra spell per level doesn't mean much anyway

actually, if your just using SoA, the Conjurer is best. you only lose the divinitaion spells, and you have the most spells in the game, or at least mastery over the school with the most spells.

necromancer is very good as they only cant cast illusion and can cast enchantment/charm spells. THe illusion spells are useally not much use beacuse of so many enemys haveing true sight.

I agree with Istaron. I've been a mage so often and being just a mage and not a specialised one is so much better. You'll really miss out when you come to spells that you want to cast but can't.

I like Conjurers and Invokers (I don't like enchantment spells).

I would have to go with the conjurer.

There are only 8 divination spells in the game ( the opposition school with the least amount of spells by far ).

The only real important divination spells ( in my opinion ) are identify and true sight. Keep in mind everyone plays the game differently.

There are alot of other characters who can use these spells.

I really like the tradeoff of true sight/id for the extra spell per level.

I always choose either a Sorcerer or a pure-class mage (though Wild Mage may be in my near future,) but if I had to pick a specialization I would choose Conjurer. There are a great many conjuration spells as everyone has already pointed out, and the only three spells I would miss from the Divination category would be identify, true seeing and oracle. But unless you're married to the idea of playing a specialist you should check out sorcerers or pure class.

NECROMANCER

Divination spells are quite usefull as many magic users you will face will use shadow door or imp. invisability to shield themselves from your spells. With necro you will only lose your illusion spells which to be honest arn't very good anyway as you mage will most likely be at the back where your opponents won't be able to attack them very often.
