Anybody got one? I have searched the web for hours, using Google and Dogpile, and cannot find a ringwraith screech WAV file. I want this to be my battlecry in BG1. Any help appreciated.

I can record one for you - can you think of a moment where they're screeching without music or other sounds effects though?

Edit: In the first two films

There is a scene in TTT where Gollum, Frodo and Sam are crossing the Emyn Muil(I think) and a wraith shows up on its beast and lets out a good one..but I don't remember if there is music in the background. I don't have the movies on DVD, just VHS.

Try this. (~350k)

That's the scream with the least amount of wing noise, but its still a little noticeable. The volume may also be too quiet for your needs, but he's flying high! I can try and crop the recording even more to get rid of the end of the first wing beat (cuz the beginning sounds a little harsh) but you start to loose some of the scream then.

Do let me know what you think.

Shamrock, how do I increase the inherent volume of the file? The volume is very low, in order to hear it in the game, the other event sounds would blow the speakers out.

Darn. With difficulty - I recorded that with all my volume sliders to full and a gain of 100% - the film plays quite quietly on my computer. I'll see if I can find a different one..

Well, I took these from the first film - they seem to be louder.

You can select from

http://www.seamoor.force9.co.uk/LOTR/nazgul3.wav

all the way up to nazgul10.wav

(about 4.5MB in total)

The spectrum analyser is still showing them as being relatively quiet though, I'm not sure this is going to be feasible. You could raise the volume yourself, but then you amplify the noise as well.

Most of these unfortunately come with music or other sounds - nazgul6 is the only silent one, but unfortunately its also from a distance so much quieter than the other ones. Where there's music, I've tried to get the full phrase so it doesn't sound disjointed.

Hope its of some use anyway.
