The most important saved Game:
At the end of Oblivion's introduction, just before you leave the sewers, you get an opportunity to revise all your character choices. SAVE YOUR GAME AT THIS POINT AND MAKE SURE YOU NEVER EVER DELETE IT!!! From this saved game, you can always create a completely new character and start the game over with a new character concept. if you don't preserve this SAVE-GAME point, you will have to go all the way through the whole introduction again to make a new, different character thats aprox 4 hours of your time waisted after you already learned all the basics.

Ummm..Crimson, are you saying that it takes 4 hours to get into the game proper? That seems a little excessive to me. Or is that a combination of intro + char creation?

Ow. How many of us *don't* restart a new game at least a few times? I've done that with all the previous ES games, among others.
Anyway, that's valuable advice, CB, and I'll keep it in mind when I get around to buying the game. |

hrs from start to steping out of the dungeon. The cat man I made was lookin alot like my biggest Cat "Bubba Louie" a 34 pound Black and white texcedo. (With all the tweeks I spent 3 hours just messing with it to get him perfect) My wife calles him the meat loaf but I desided to make a Nord and deleted him so then it only took 40 min making the nord and get to where the king gives you the amulet so I saved there. After that you can change everything and I use that as my lets not escape from prison again save. So to answer you, You can take hours playing with the face maker or you can just whip up a charactre and buzz through the basic totorial and redo your character at the point just after you leave the King and tweek him up so. From start to gate out of prison into sunlight 40 min give or take 5 min. From spending hours making faces (lol) to save point DAYS if you want. From save point to surface 2-4 min if you dont change anything. I restarted 5 times from the save game and twice from the begining. Its up to you as to weather you want to spend that extra 40 min or not.

Bah, you simply have a problem making up your mind. When i create a character, i finish the game with said character whatever happens. If i'm not happy with the character i started with after leveling up a bit...tough luck. I've spoken with too many people who could never make up their minds re character creation in Morrowind, and i don't want to sink to their emotional level, just make up your mind and start playing already.

Here's a bit of warning on another matter. A little bug I found thats caused me to have to restart. In the town in the far south east when you do the Mage Guild Recommendation make sure you complete the quest the lizard lady gives you before you take her other quest. Otherwise it bugs out the recommendation quest and you can't get your recommendation so you won't be able to gain access to the accedemy and make custom spells and items.

Here's an idea....let's make a sticky thread in which everyone can report bugs and how to bypass them untill there's a patch.
