Nah, don't worry Vask. I'll be a good boy and stop for a while now.
And too easy? Well, I don't know - what's easy for me could be difficult for someone else.
I'll just lean back for a while and see whether others have more trouble with them or not.

One thing though - some of them were just simple synonyms of the rappers' names; and those weren't all that difficult to guess. For example, it would have been a bit more cryptic if you'd asked "Illiterate Followers of Bacchus" for Tha Alkaholiks instead of "boozers". Just my 2 cents, though.

I don't even know what Bacchus is but you're right in general. But what hope do people have who don't know about rap? Like you said, for some it's easy, some it's hard. Anyway, I'm not scared of criticism (damn well used to it) so if you think the clues are crap, just say so, don't pussyfoot around. If you think they're good then also let me know as everyone likes praise Now, have you got all of them yet? If not, which ones are you having trouble with? I'll have to hold them as my crowning glory

Oh, I stopped guessing when I pretty much saw you begging me to stop doing that. As I can't keep myself from posting them when I've figured them out anyways, don't want to ruin it for the others. I think there would have been at least a handful I wouldn't have been able to guess, though, let's just leave it at that.

Begging? The last time I begged I was about 8 asking my parents for some new toy. And I don't think I have since or ever will beg again Post 'em if you want, I've already changed the first post to tell people to try it before reading the rest of the thread. Doesn't look like anyone's interested though. Shame. Anyway, post all you can, I'm interested to know which ones you can't get.

Just looked at Mel's quiz. Two of mine are people that appear in hers too. Purely coincidence. Also notice that my clues are obvious/lame compared to hers. Guess I should stick to my computer engineering and not try to venture into the land of the linguists. Cheers for humouring me though Groj

Is it too hard for everyone but G?

Well, G at least you should finish off the rest. And I've given some of the ones you already got less obvious clues.

Was actually on my way to bed, but here are a few I came up with:

4. Eazy-E
8. 2Pac
12. Nas
14. MC Ren
29. Will Smith
32. Scarface
35. Mystikal
40. House of Pain
46. Mos Def

It would have helped if you'd marked the ones that were already guessed, though.
And now I'm off.

Very good, all you need to solve now are:
10, 15, 16, 17, 20, 22, 24, 38, 42, 43, 44 and 45

Hmm I realised why they're so easy...many have 2-word names and even though the clue for one of the words is often hard, for the other, all you're having to do is take the synonym for the clue and then you've got part of the name then after that it's easy. Doh! I should've spent longer on the clues. Not that anyone else is joining in anyway, so doesn't matter.
