Ya know I have often wondered that too...but you could look at it from the aspect, that we celebrate the fact that Christ willingly gave his own life for our salvation. Ive had discussions with a couple of different Catholic Scholars...on why we should be happy that someone died ina horrible manner....heh we keep going round and round guess this is one of those divine mysteries [img]smile.gif[/img]

i'm a Christain (non-Catholic) and the way i view it is this:

Jesus was the son of God so he was the only "human" who's blood could free us from our sins and stop us from having to kill our best sheep as an offering (which if you think of it would be impossible to do today with disease en such). he made it very easy to get into heaven.

also, it's a celebration that he rose from the dead on the third day. and in excess of his previous glory i might add.

much more to it, but there's a gist.

it really is more of a celebration. but you have to keep in mind that he went through some serious crap, and you should realize that and be thankful.
