I do it all the time. No matter how many times I try to remember not to, I always seem to leave Fire Storm, or Meteor selected, and when I go into combat, WHAM, up in a puff of smoke.
I think I have killed myself more than I have been killed by others. Luckily there is usually at least one survivor. [ 11-24-2003, 01:10 PM: Message edited by: gurthang ]

If you do that often then there are some things you could do to prevent death!
1. The storms are normally slow so hit shift and run! 2. You could build up immunities to fire and magic 3. You could only use the storms from long range so you don't have to worry about waiting and forgetting to deselect it. 4. You could not use those attacks unless desprate 5. You could bring lots of scrolls of rebirth 6. You could teach everyone the rebirth spell 7. YOU COULD PAY ATTENTION! Clicking the really fast won't help you win, There will be a waiting period anyways. Pay attention to what you are doing. Oh and I am not mocking just so you know! |

ROTFLOL! I did that once against the hydra. Forgot what my quickspell was set to and... waitaminnit! What are all these balls of fire doing... YEEEEOOOWWWCHH!!!
Fortunately, I was fairly well-protected against the elements (go enchantments!), so I made it out alive. I was scared, though, let me tell you. I couldn't remember the last time I had saved the game... As Loumistro pointed out, running away at full speed is often one of the best answers. I don't even bother to turn around -- just backpedal away as fast as I can...

I always seem to forget. Blast some Jungle Lily from a distance, then come across some Raptors and, BOOM! Or I try to use my Lockpicks on some unsuspecting Scourge 'O the Sea. BTW, what nerve sending just ONE Scourge after me. [ 11-24-2003, 02:47 PM: Message edited by: gurthang ]

Ah yes, killing one's own party... A very popular pastime around here.
The trick is remembering Bungleau's signature: Save Early, Save Often Save Before, Save After.
