Now...let me mention that I know from listening to a radio financial advisor say that the US has the worst internet speeds in the world, and the highest prices. He says that any Asian connection is at least double the speed and half the price of any American one, and that is because of the crookedness of the businesses. I hate knowing that I am spending $45.00/month, and getting only half of what some of you are posting getting in DL speed. I want my money's worth!
That radio financial advisor's talking a load of rubbish, Larry. The US actually has pretty fast broadband - I'm not sure about continental Europe, but it's pretty similar to the UK. Australia is way behind - the fastest "fraudband" speed when I was there was about 4Mbps on cable, and 1.5Mbps on DSL. And he must have just been referring to Japan when he talked about Asia, because whenever I've travelled in Asia the line speeds have been woeful. Maybe Dundee can share his thoughts on broadband speeds in Singapore, but I know in places like Hong Kong, the Philippines, India, etc it's really slow - they consider 1Mbps to be fast.

China gets NOWHERE near what you're getting, Larry. And Hivetyrant is right, I'd be willing to sacrifice a large ox to get that kind of internet speed. Or how about this: you don't get anywhere near the level of censorship that I get on my net connection. If I had to pay $60 USD a month to have the kind of connection you have, I'd be willing to do so.

Ayup, I'm jealous of what you've got.

Ah...I see...well then, that puts things in a new perspective.

I wonder how the crap you other guys are getting twice what I have then. Are you paying the same or less than me?
