...Much to my displeasure and a sense of "waste of money".

No one around me had or were even interested in IWD series or BG series, all were into either FPS/Racing games.

Yeah, it definitely did.

Anyway, I'm having fun. (and difficulty, I'm not used to 3rd edition ad & d rules u see...)
Just haven't made up my mind on what to play this game with...kinda odd, innit? A BG2 expert turned to IWD2 newbie in a matter of days...

Try a druid, they are lot of fun. They are very different than the BG2 version.

When i played IWD2 druid was cool but i liked the ranger and sorceress. One thing you can do is make a wizard named Gandalf because the third edition rules allow anyone to use a long sword.

For some reason, I always thought of Gandalf as a Druid.
Sorry, horribly off-topic

gandalf seems to be a Fighter/Wizard, since he does use a long sword.

I see Gandalf as a druid, too.

Strange. I never thought of Gandalf as a Druid. In fact, I'm re-reading LOTR (how's that for coincidence?) and he doesn't seem like a Druid at all.

Merlin, now, he was a Druid.

But I think we better stop here before we go really, really off-topic.

Well, only 4th level fighter can get weapon specialisation in any weapon, which is reguired for maximased attacks feat, so fighter4/barbarianX, fighter4/paladin of HelmX, fighter4/clericX etc. are quite common builds.

Other common build is Ranger1/rogueX since rangers get free two weapon fighting and ambidexterity when wearing light armor. At 11th level rogues get all sorts of fancy feats, so rogue11/fighterX, rogue11/rangerX or rogue11/fighterX/rangerX. You may want add few more rogue levels for backstab damage...

Split class casters may not be a good idea, since they wont get really effective. At least I regret a little not staying pure druid with my druid/sorceress, tough RGP vise twinclassing seemed to fit her...

ps. It think in D&D terms Gandalf was an outsider.
