So the $60+ people pay to sit and watch cable television isnt an addiction? At least in an internet game there is interaction. How many time have you or someone else said "I have to go, I have to see this - episode of Friends, Battlestar Galactica,Survivor, movie of the week, etc-. Not everyone likes to go out and socialise wherever you think they should.

I didn't mention anything about going out and socializing at all. What I'm talking about is being addicted to a computer game. And when you are addicted, you neglect other things. Social life perhaps, but I'm talking about other things. Like say, bills that need to be paid or your own damn family. Even your mind literally begins to rot.

Furthermore, there is a fine line between an addiction wanting to catch a tv show. I won't dispute the fact that some people are literally addicted to television, I know there are. But sitting down for maybe an hour or so to watch some tv is the same as hopping on the computer and playing a game for a bit. There is nothing wrong with that and I have no qualms. An addiction is different though. An addiction is when something literally consumes your life. When you wake up early to squeeze in 30 minutes of game time before going to your job. Coming home on your lunch breaks to play the game. Coming home from work, eating dinner and then hopping right on and then play until the wee hours of the night. When you throw a hissyfit because you didn't get to play. I could keep giving details but I think you get the idea.

Tmber, which server are you on?

I have a number of characters on Bladefist, and a couple on Blackhand.

I'm not a stats nut either Ziroc. I don't focus on one char, but sample all the races/classes in a game, whether BG, Morrowind, or now WoW.

I have a rule, that if it starts grinding, I stop and log out and come back another time. If I'm not enjoying it, it's not a game.

One quirk though, I have a level 6 priest in Bladefist named Francisco, who's never struck a blow, not harmed anyone. Only taken nonaggressive quests and travelled to gain exp. Oh yeah, and hes a herbalist of course.

TL plays Dalaran. I started a character there but the time difference meant i could no longer get a group for instances and unable to get a pvp group before X realms came. I enjoyed the server alot, but if i couldn't get better items so I thought no point. Besides, almost 3 60's on a pvp server is great. I can gank on either a 60 orc warrior, troll rogue (Who i am reconsidering rolling Undead -.-) and 60 undead mage. Rogues + Blackrock spire = honour fest But different people have different opinions (some like the carebear servers .

I just love to pvp -- alot. And since the patch where civs dont get dishonour, im owning westfall with an iron fist, except when a paladin comes. Being able to be killed in the 6 second stun is pretty amazing, i can only do that to a clothy and they gotta be unfocused on pvp.

Come to Dalaran, play Horde. I have a spot in a great guild for you, and we're one of the few guilds that does end-game raiding and has an open arms friends & family policy. A lot of us are also over 25, so it's pretty mature.

The main characters I play are levels 20ish, 40ish, and 60, so I will be able to group with you while levelling up. I've also picked up a second account for the wife to level up on. Also, a lot of guildies are gonna reroll Blood Elves once the Xpac drops on the 16th, so you'll have company leveling up -- and Healadins and Tankadins to keep you alive.

I have characters on other servers, but they're just a diversion, I'm not serious about them.

Click the link in my sig for my name and guild info.

Oh, and if PVP is your thing, that's not our focus, but we do it and do it well:

Just cancelled my order for BC, removed WoW from my system and am going to go downstairs onto my dads PC, sell all my stuff and distribute it to people who deserve a little thankyou, even if it is in virtual gold.

Realised my life is going to get hectic this year, and I haven't the time to play it.

And no, this isn't a WoW-bashing post, it is one of the best games I've ever played

Yeah I'm taking a break right now till TBC hits. Playing other games like GW and NWN 2 to pass the time. Even though the expansion doesn't interest me as much as most, there is a palpable feeling of excitement on the servers, people are just holding their breath.

Well that was my problem. If I got BC, that'd be another year gone easy. The time it takes to get to 70, experience all the content/instances for gear. And then raid. It's too much, I had to get out, and that's honestly how I feel - escaping the game

If I quit that game I'd be playing another at the same rate. It's what I do with my free time.
