It's probably in the fine print somewhere, however I would expect and ask for a new replacement. It'd be kinda shady to provide one that is refurbished. If you wanted refurbished you would of bought that in first place, amirite?

Yeah... And it was the Western Digital Black Edition 500gigs... They are SUPPOSED to run 1.2 million hrs.. 32mb cache etc.. was using it as a boot drive.. but lucky me, I had a backup install of XP on a second drive, so I wasn't down.. just had to update drivers and stuff...
I heard one guy say he send back a 500gig and they sent him a 750gig! Pretty cool!

usually they will send you a new one, if what you have is not available sometimes you luck out and get a nice upgrade. It's happened a few times for me with WD. EVGA is also good like that with their vid cards.

Yeah, I love EVGA. I have the X58 SLI Motherboard and has a crazy good warranty, as well as the 1.2g Geforce 470 GTX and also has a great warranty.. Not the fastest card, but works for me..
About to upgrade to Windows 7 today or tomorrow.. 64bit version--can't WAIT to be able to use the rest of my ram... (XP sees 2.3g) I'll have all 6gigs open. wee!

Re: RMA a WD Hard drive -- do they send a new one or refurbished?
Well, I sent them a WD 500gig Black Edition Cav.. and they are sending me a BLUE Edition 750gig drive (WD7500AALX)... (a bit more space, but the Blue version isn't as good as the black edition) -- and from the reviews of this new 750gig drive, it has a high failure rate.. UGH... I hope I get lucky.. lol.. I don't REALLY care, as its only a 'dump drive' for movies and games...
I should get it tomorrow, so we'll see if its refurbished or not.. I know how to tell
