I am looking for other people's opinions concerning the strength of a dual classed char vs anything else.

When I played my first RPG's it was stuff like Shadows over Riva (by sirtech) and Return to Krondor.
I thought it was awesome to do two classes at once (multi) in Ad&D but after playing with an all human group I found that dualed people are enourmously effective, almost too much so. I was just wondering if people found it tiring. (Sigh, Humans win again)

Dual classed characters if used properly can be extremely effective and efficient, if done properly, they can take advantage of both classes like a fighter/mage (who is fine tuned in his melee combat skills yet potent in the art of magic). However, calling them gods would be an overstatement. Any class of character can become amazingly powerful at the end of the game, it all depends on how you develop them and how you use them.

The PC is HALF god, after all. I agree that these characters are really effective, but if you don't cheat and just GIVE them the XP after switching classes, there is a period of time in which the character is pretty useless.

A fighter dualed to anything is pretty effective though, even at level two. You can use any weapons, a helmet, shield, exceptional strength (>18). Who needs a halfling, eh?

250 bro, carefull of the drugs man. They are affecting you in weired ways.

*grin* Jes kidden.

I've always liked Multi-classed characters. Ya they lag a bit behind in levels untill your around 15th, but by 10th level most of them are doing ok. Plus the added benifit of haveing two classes to fall back on instead of just one. I've always liked viraity, and options.

I've not had much experience with dual'ed characters, but seeing as most people choose to start out as a fighter, and then dual to something else I can see the advantages it would offer. Say you hit 5th level as a fighter, then train as a mage. If you play your cards right you could have a wizzard with 70hp's, 18/00 strength, and a THAC0 better than a 20th level wizard. Not too shabby considering that your also casting spells.
