Hi everyone, I just started playing Baldur's Gate in the last month and accidentally broke disk 2. Turns out it is very important especially early in games etc. Anyhow, I have since bought a new copy (along with ToSC and SoA) on E-Bay, but they won't get here until early next week. Is there anyway to play the game in areas where disk 2 is needed if you don't have it? Thanks in advance!

Peace, John.

Do you have Baldur's Gate II?

If you did a full install then you shouldn't need the disk, but I'm assuming you didn't since you're asking the question.

Unless someone were to send you the files you need, then I don't think there is any way to play those locations without the disk.

Just avoid those places and go somewhere else for now.

Edit:
Well it'll be hard to avoid those places, there are a lot more than I thought.
My disk (the 5 disk version) has the files for: Friendly Arm, Beregost, High Hedge, S of Candlekeep, The Temple, E of the Temple, S of Beregost, The Lighthouse, E of the Lighthouse, S of the Lighthouse, SE of the Lighthouse, and N of Nashkel, on it. That blocks out most of what you could do at the low levels.
Sorry.

I thought of that, but to get to the Gnoll Fort (or any of places around there) he needs to pass through a map on disk two.
The maps on disk two basically create an "L" shape, blocking off everything but the first few maps.

If you have Baldur's Gate II, you can download BGITutu, which will made the game much nicer to play and give you alot more possibilities.

It also means that you dont need to keep swapping CDs when you change areas.

The choice is yours

I have read quite a bit about Tutu on this board and another and am not sure I want to go that route. I should be getting a new copy of BG along with ToSC and BG 2 SoA in the next couple of days. I thought I read somewhere that if you install Tutu it can create problems with ToB. Or maybe it depended on when you installed it...I don't recall. Does it create any compatibility problems with any of the other games? I am running the game on XP as well 98SE. I guess I can always look for the other threads to check it out.

Thanks to all for your help. Oh, and you can't get into the library in Chapter 6 without disk 2. Found that out yesterday. lol
