To Ironfist

Well there are alot of monks in Japan, not only ninjas which are basicly a persversion of the Bushido tradition (hence the Ninja-to a straight blade instead of the long curved blade of Katanas, usually with a good hand guard that could be used for climbing walls, the sheath used as a blowgun) and are rumored to decend from Chin, however these are ostly fictional. The true Ninjas were class-less characters taking up what trade they could in trining to silent agents working with espionage and assasinations.
The monks of japan are pretty harmless and developed great skills in gardening you might have seen the awesome japanese gardens? Tkaes smoe twenty to life training to achieve that, not so much weapon training there. Usually though true to japanese traditions the japanese monks created Karate, Aikido and Judo. Hand-to-hand fighting. Bushido, way of the warrior were more into swords, staff, Naginata, and Bows.
Well, hope you all like a little traditional japanese monk vs ninja history. Remember that there are alot of different monks in Japan so the styles may be different but if they fought it were hand to hand.

WOLFGIR, Thanks for the great informations.
I think the reason many monks prefer unarmed comabat style
is maybe two fists just harm you and a sword can kill.
