Hi guys, I would just like to make myself known, I have been reading this board for a while and have never posted.
I have been playing MUD's for a few years now and bought W&W just because my favourite mud died. I am mostly impressed with it and kudos to all who put effort into designing it. Anyways... Off to make a character and get right into it all... might even give that 1 character thing a go. Will keep you all posted of my travels. [SINdicate] Pain. Of Dark Castle Diku Mud... |

Welcome aboard [SINdicate] Pain,
There are MANY questions in W&W. When you need the answers to them this is the best place to be. Try reading the best tips thread to make life a lot easier & death less assured. When you 1st start the game it is quite challenging. Even Bungleau, who is a bit of a guru, is finding his solo game difficult. Try with 1 charactor but if it's too much you can roll up a couple of comrades for it. I think 4 is a good number because it allows you to develop skills that make the game easier like identifying items, repairing items, lockpicking, & healing. Regarding Packrats salads. THEY WILL HUNT YOU DOWN!!!. Have fun.

Welcome to the boards, [SINdicate] Pain. May your journey through the Gael Serran fill your cup with blessings, and the fields with the blood of your enemies.
A solo game is really a boutique-type game -- challenging and frustrating, as Kev has mentioned that I'm (re-)discovering. For your first time through, it's often fun to play a full party so you can experience a lot more of what the Gael Serran has to offer. After that, solo games provide a way to relive the same experience but make it more challenging. Put another way, starting out solo may make you frustrated enough to toss your 'puter through the nearest open window. If that happens, stop in at the Boogre Bar to commiserate with us. We'll give you a shoulder to cry on (especially if you're buying ). And do keep us posted. We like to know what's been going on.

Welcome to the board, [SINdicate] Pain!!!
Looking forward to hearing your adventures! W&W is a very good game! One of the very few C(omputer)RPGs I have managed to play through to the end in many years. You'll find great help and wonderful posters here! Wyv (taking out Red - not fully awake yet, I guess) [ 09-03-2002, 08:20 AM: Message edited by: Wyvern ] |

in my opinion, those ppl. who plans on using only 1 character 2 try n beat the game are really great as it is a real challenge 2 W&W diehards!!! if i tried it, i would go !
so basically, ppl. playing wif only 1 character are real masterminds!!!
