I wonder if putting a "Wyv, don't read" warning would have the desired effect .... oh probably not!

I have never killed Erathsmedor!

I'm comforted to know that whenever any of you play the game again, Erathsmedor rises like a phoenix out of the ashes of your previous mayhem!
HE LIVES!!!
He *plays* dead very well. In fact they all do! Haven't you ever wondered why the slashed and mangled bodies of those you slayed are not there where you left them in the dust until they rot away into nothingness? It's simple. After they have played dead for you, they head off to the the coffee room for a break and a byte to eat until they are needed again.

It wouldŽve been much nicer to meet Sabastio out on the plains. Mmmm, IŽd give him a slap in the face for wasting som much of my precious time lol. Maybe IŽd even slap him while still holding a sword... Aaaahh blissful thinking.

I did indeed kill Erathsmedor. I believe one of my first 10 posts on IW was about how easy he and Oakenmir, etc. were to kill... Then I found out that Wyvern was rather fond of Erathsmedor... And how many didn't like killing good guys... then I felt ashamed until I remembered how much XP I got... I felt better after that...

And to go completely sideways for a moment, Wyv's comment about

reminds me of a book by Fred Saberhagen called the Dracula Tapes. In it, he reviews Bram Stoker's Dracula from Dracula's point of view, pointing out the silliness of more than a few things. One of the final things he points out is how, when Dracula was "killed", a knife went into him and he was no more. Actually, as Drac said, he turned into mist and dissipated away, to let Harker, Van Helsing, and their comrades think that Dracula was gone.

Exactly what the critters in the Gael Serran do when they die...

For other interesting vampire reading, Saberhagen wrote a series of Dracula Tapes books (none quite as interesting as the first), and gave ol' Frankenstein the same treatment. P. N. Elrod has written several very good vampire novels from the vampire's point of view... very interesting and educational.

Excuse me, I need to get a midnight snack. Anyone for a bloody mary?
