Interesting topic.
English also omits many forms of specifying a gender to words and objects. For example, spanish calls male dogs "perros" and female dogs "perras." In english, the word "bitch" has taken another connotation (this, I understand, has trickled over to spanish as well). ------------------ Gaelic |
