Now that thing looks awesome. Xbox is going downhill, with their ugly piece of junk. |

I admit the case does look cool, and the specs are impressive, but they don't match the Xbox 360's

Xbox 360: http://hardware.teamxbox.com/article...cifications/p1 PS3: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/614/614682p1.html They both seem quite powerful. Xbox has more memory it seems. PS3 has twice the teraflops for Overall System Floating-Point Performance. How signifcant is that? How much will these specs change between now and launch?

That precisely is the question Chewy - are these the final specs? There isn't that much to tell the two apart yet, although it looks like the Xbox may have a slightly better GPU, as the PS2s isn't mentioned in great detail.
We'l see in due time however. As a loyal PS2 follower I will likely upgrade to PS3 rather than Xbox, but you never know. Edit: The PS3's controller looks very modern, something you might expect in a new flat, or just out of Ikea Wonder how it handles. [ 05-17-2005, 04:18 AM: Message edited by: RoSs_bg2_rox ]

It's ugly, all it needs is the digits on the front and it looks like a alarmclock I once had...

Yeah I don't think it looks that good. Anyway, who has time to play games these days? I haven't played for nearly a year!

That's because you spend too much time watching her dancing
I don't have time for my PS2 these days either to be honest, I haven't played it in months. But still, good for the occasional session, when WC3 is getting boring, much like my blethering

System FP performance of the PS/3 is double that of the xbox (2 Tflops vs. 1), the PS/3 supports more DVD formats (everything the xbox 360 supports, plus all the blue-ray formats), the GPUs are virtually identical, performnacewise, but the xbox GPU shares it's memory with the system bus and has degraded memory performance (22.4gb/sec vs. 25.6gb/sec) compared to the PS/3's memory. The two share the exact same CPU - but the PS/3 has eight cpus is a cell configuration, the xbox 360 has only three. Both have 512MB total of GDR3 memory, but the PS/3 has 256 dedicated to the CPUs and 256 dedicated to the GPU. Likewise, the xbox 360 controller support is more limited than the PS/3 - the PS/3 supports bluetooth controllers as well as USB - up to 7 - as well as wifi (PSP) and network, the xbox 360 uses only USB and up to four wireless controllers. Both systems have virtually identical audio performance, both have detachable HDDs, the PS/3 has a wider fan-base and continues the tradition of being backwards compatible with all of the previous PS products, with it's extremely wide range of games and fan support. The Xbox 360's strength promises to be XBox Live.

Now that looks damned slick. I can't wait to see what the Nintendo Revolution will look like, hopefully it won't be purple.
