After a few minutes of observation the figure steps out of the shadows, bringing some of them with him as a cloak and stares at the surrounding scene. It seemed to him that no one had seen him in his shadowed form in the corner and he was rather impresses with himself. Aran Linvale had taught him well and this new armour of his (the night's gift + 5) certainly helped in concealment. It would seem that this bar would regenerated itself whenever damage. This may have been due to the fact that there was a regeneration enchantment on it or purely the baretender (obviously not native to the prime material plane) was intervening with powerful magiks of his own. His prime purpose of this "expidition" was to find Maslon, a high level mage of evil alignment who was also reputed to be one of the many bhaal-spawns, and kill him. He had already captured Geysen, his pet familiar imp, but alas the bartender had mad his head look like a burst balloon. He planed to use Geysen as bait but that plan had backfired. His last known positon was around this bar somewhere...

The figure looks at what appears to be a raving lich at the bar. Although his ravings have stopped the figure considers placing his blade (cutthroat +4) in his cranium.

As the fist of this brave and overconfident Monk is about to connect with the chest of this dark and shadowed figure, a sharp streak of coldness jolts up the Monk's arm. The fist of the young monk connects with nothing and the Assassin, obviously his occupation had be realised, smiles. None but +3 weapons could penetrate the darkness. It seemed to the Assassin that this Monk had a death wish.

Lord Shield hangs his cleaning rag on killer's sword and walks over to Caleb. Caleb spins round with a kick but the target isn't there. Lord Shield now stands behind him, balances a tankard on Caleb's head. As the monk spins round, LS lets loose a palm strike that sends Caleb careening through the air and out the front door, the tankard hovering in the air long enough for LS to snatch it back again

The Assassin smile turns into a wide grin. The monk had definetely met his match here. Alas for this pathetic killer creature. This +10 sword of his seems to be nothing more than a cursed bastard sword to him. Even the dirty rag LS had just hung on it had more shine in comparison.
