Not so very good. I think they are the 4th or 5th largest party, not sure here though. They never lose much voters, but they never gain much either.

Yeah, the short-sighted masses can never really appreciate true wisdom

Hm.. D66 isn't much of a mainstream party. They don't make enough noise to attract much attention from the voters. Which is actually one of the things I like about this party.

Ah, very good, they are biding their time you see Let the mainstream parties win their puny little elections for a few decades and then pluck power from under them when the social climate is ripe

Now they're more like the 7th biggest party, though, despite them being part of the current government coalition... They were a lot more popular in the mid 90's, but nowadays they only have a fraction of the seats in Parliament that they used to have - they've lost quite a lot of voters after they'd hit their peak about a decade ago. Which is probably because politics in our country nowadays is more about American-like superficiality and populistic sound bites than it is about substance; they're just not "cheap" enough to appeal the masses nowadays, which is probably a good thing in a way. And I suppose they also lost quite a lot of voters to parties (like PvdA) that had a better chance to act as a counterbalance to the growing popularity of harsher and more extreme rightwing politics.

But anyways, the fact remains that D66 had 24 (!) seats in 1994, while they've only got 6 nowadays. So I sort of tend to disagree with johnny's above claims.

Thanks for the update Groj. Like i said, i wasn't exactly aware of their current status, but i also must have missed that they had THAT many seats 10 years ago. Must have been when i was in my cave, having a wintersleep.

I don't think the test is that accurate or doesn't ask enough questions. According to this test the CDA is the party closest to me. Isn't this the current party in power under Balkenede? I don't think that this party would best represent me. According to Groj, this pary is at centre but leans to the right on some issues . Am I correct? I'm at the centre but lean to the left on a few social and economic issues. So the Pvda or D66 would probbaly be the party closest to me. Though the only party that I would hate and dread would be this Fortuyn that seems to be almost like a facist party.

Oh yeah and what exactly is a fundamentalist Christian party?

Am I doing it wrong? What do the options mean? My choices are eens, neutraal (that one is fairly obvious ), oneens, and geen mening. How did everyone else manage to answer it without having to look like a dill and ask?

Agree, neutral, don't agree, no opinion.
