Help!

Hi, when killing Irenicus for the last time, shouldn't you continue to ToB with your party?

After the ending SoA movie it quits to the desktop.
Why can't I continue into ToB directly??

if you kill irenicus, the game is over. plain and simple.
you gotta do ToB BEFORE you kill irenicus... preferably right after suldanesslar and before hell.
so go back to your last save at that area and you can do tob, no prob.

That's pretty weird. When I finished SoA, I did go into ToB. As a matter of fact, you can't go into ToB (except Watcher's Keep) without killing Irenicus. As far as a solution... Did you start your game with an old desktop shortcut for SoA? There is a new start-up with ToB, and this may be the source of your problem, but I don't know. Start your final save with ToB from your start menu and see if it works if the above is the case.

This is wrong. You can't do any of ToB unless you kill Irenicus (except watchers keep)
Have you played ToB?

As for alekz problem, I'm not sure. Are you positive ToB is installed correctly? You don't see the intro movie about the raging bhaalspawn on the sword coast? I would backup your saved games and reinstall both bg2 and tob, just to be safe. Maybe install the beta ToB patch too.

Alekz, this happened to me the first two times I tried starting ToB. I would do the final fight with Jon and instead of showing the ending of SoA and moving to the beginning of ToB it completely shut off to my desktop...

Tried again, with no luck - same results. Tried a third time and worked. It's worked ever since. Try it a few times if you haven't already, if not speak with tech support over at Bioware.

I deleted the temp and cache dir in the BG2 folder and it worked fine then
