I am having a problem with my computer: I can never do a full install on any computer game. It's not only BG1, but this is the game I'm most interested in having a full install on. I used to be able to, and I know I have enough Hard Drive space for these games.

This most recently happened when I tried to do a full install of BG1. The first disc installs just fine, and then the computer asks for the second disc. I eject the first disc and put the second disc in, which is where my problem occurs. The program doesn't respond after that, and I'm basically screwed. I am able to play the game if I'd like, by doing a minimum install, but that's annoying because I need to switch discs a lot and I can't install mods like Tutu.

Please help me if you can.

TIA

Which version of BG are you loading?
Specs on your CP?
What speed is the CD drive?
Is the Anti-Virus on? Turn it off.

Anyway, if you have the Original Saga edition, try a 'custom' install,,,,and select everything to be installed. Hope this helps.

I have the original saga. I tried the custom install, and I encountered the same problem.

I will try turning the anti-virus off, but I had no idea that would interfere with an install off of a disc.

BTW, lose the political sig, man. Leave that stuff for the current events forum.

No. Disc 2 is fine, in both games. I think it's my computer with the problem, not the game.

Anti-virus software screws with the way your computer works in more ways than you can imagine. I used to run McAfee on mine, stopped after everything I ever downloaded started coming in corrupt. Things started downloading properly again.

I'll definitely have to give this a shot.
