Often those jellies just aren't worth killing. Try grabbing the loot and running away!

Oh this reminds me of Schlumpsta the Sewer King (or something)... thatīs so great name and funny character. Anyway, the best thing to do would be to have at least one of your fighters to have a good protection against itīs attacks (was it slow/poison?), surround it with your party and kill it with blunt weapons, or why not with slashing weapons as well. I canīt really remember.

I think Mustard Jellies have to be hit with +1 weapons or +1 ammunition. I would have your mage cast Mirror Image and run in first attracting their attention while the rest of your party moves in to do the real damage. Make sure your party has some sort of magical aiding going on, like a Cleric's Chant spell, and be ready to cast Dispell Magic and Slow Poison if someone gets poisoned and slowed.

Only blunt weapons effect it, so smash it into oblivion!

It's not just Blunt & Spiked weapons that will hurt them--Slashing does the trick as well. Don't try to Pierce them, though. I keep forgetting if they're immune to Missile weapons or not.

Yeah, Mustard Jellies require +1 weapons or better to hit them, and they have 100% Magic Resistance.

SLIGHT BG2 SPOILER

This comes in kinda handy in BG2, because you can find an item that lets you Polymorph yourself into a Mustard Jelly (and back, of course).
