Can't believe I kept missing this post. Anyway my current character, fifth one, is a standard fighter level 11 I think. Still only in chapter three. This character I'm going to keep for future games like Never Winter Nights. He slaughters everything with Grandmaster Katana and Celestial fury. I edited him slightly too for several reasons:
a) Coz I could
b) Because you're supposed to be the leader of the group and it didn't look right having an intelligence and wisdom of five
c) To compensate for the fact that he isn't an import from Bg1 and so hasn't had access to tomes. You already suffer from starting at a lower level than if you import.

I really like this guy because he's packed full of sequencer spells, so like if you'd try to give him a slash then he'll probably blow out something like mislead + absolute immunity + stoneskin.

PROBABLY, BARDS DONT CUT IT FOR ME. THEY CANT FIGHT AS WELL AS A FIGHTER, THEIVE AS WELL AS A THEIF OR CAST SPELLS AS GOOD AS A MAGE. BETTER TO SPECILISE IN ONE FIELD I SAY.....
