Yes, another cat thread
This one's about the strangest, most infuriating and most funny things your cats have done, and we can all remember how cats are great (and better than dogs- aren't they Binky ) I know this one might not sound too strange, but it's a strange sight I can tell you when you walk into your bathroom at night and you see your cat sat there right in the middle of the empty bathtub snoring his head off. P.S also, feel free to write about annoying things they do too, this thread was inspired by our other cat (the small one luckily) jumping on me and then walking over the keyboard.

Rastus has a couple really weird habits:
First thing in the morning (you know, before caffeine and open eyes) he jumps in my lap as I'm using the facilities! Don't know why he feels the need to be close at that precise moment..... Also usually in the morn but not limited to then, he *really* enjoys typng for me! I can push the keyboard all the way under the desk and he'll reach in to see what he can make come up on the screen. And you can always tell if he's been at it--when you come back into the room, there'll be four or five screens popped up everywhere and the most innocent looking cat you ever saw looking at you .

Tuppence was lying on her back the other day so I went over to pat her belly; it's so soft and silky and gorgeous . And she started purring! Which is exciting for me because she almost NEVER purrs. She's really not very catty in many ways, although she's the most catty cat in other ways, like getting into every box she finds . So she's purring away, not very loudly but I could hear her, and she grabbed my hand in her paws and started biting it (this is a regular occurence for her, unlike the purring ). So I let her since I was enjoying her purring so much
Well that's not a particularly strange story, or actually a very interesting one either, but it made me happy

One of our two cats has learned the art of levitation. This means that if there's a barrier (oh, say, put up by my wife to keep certain four-legged mammals out of the quilt room while she works in there), he literally zooms up in a completely lateral form, moves horizontally over the barrier, then vertically downwards, without changing shape or vector. I suspect helicopters were designed after someone saw a cat do this.

Funny.... well, Sybil is a siamese brittish seal point... she has the typical siamese miaow (loud and deep!!), and the typical trait of bumping her head against the loungue, and puring a bit...
But funny... well... Minty is a deaf kitten- need I say more ?? Annoying... well.... Minty is a kitten- need I say more ?? |

I don't have a cat, anyone mind if I widen this out to other pets? (Well I hope no-one minds, since I'm about to do it anyway )
My budgie is completely mad - a sandwich short of a picnic. He plays madly on the side of his cage, and if he catches sight of his foot, he will chase it around (like a dog chasing its tail). When he catches it, he will grab a toe, yanking his foot off the bars, then start squawking at his foot. When he realises, hanging from the bars by one foot, that it is his own toe in his beak and not a strange interloper, he gets embarrassed and starts preening himself nonchalently. 'What, me?'

I have two 10 year old cats, Spook and Jinx. Jinx from a very early age loved to play fetch with those soft sponge balls. A couple of years ago she began to lose interest in the sport, and then Spook started doing it. I guess he figured she was getting all the attention???
Jinx also is a big face washer. Anytime I pick her up she starts licking my face like mad. She'll keep going forever, or until I run out skin, whichever comes first. If the face ain't available, she'll lick whatever's handy. Hard to get dressed in the morning with the dang cat licking your arm or leg. And speaking of which... Was sitting on the toilet one day, minding my own business (well, you know) and didn't notice Jinx enter the bathroom. Wasn't paying attention. Then the dang cat pokes her head up and licks the inside of one thigh. I must have jumped six feet! Silly cat has also licked my eyelids, inside my ear, and inside my nose. What a great way to wake up. And jealous Spook has started licking hands and arms too, about the same time he started fetching. I don't understand cats. Maybe that's what I like best about 'em. |

Ha someone mentioning waking up in the morning, reminded me of something
My old cat I used to have was a heavy old thing, first thing in the mornings when I used to be reluctant to get up and goto the toilet he would always jump upto my bed and somehow had to land on my bladder area.....god damn that used to hurt
