Took forever, but I finaly got this game and started playing it yesterday. I don't want to get off on the wrong foot, so does anyone have any useful (not to spoilerific) suggestions for me? The character's name is Jaggaer Haggert, and [currently] level 4 necromancy with 6 skills. I'm on the quest to find a secondary profession and am considerring Warrior, does anyone know if this would be a good/bad pair? Would there be something better? Also, does anyone know how I can find that place where I put the 4 candles in the catacombs? I'm lost as to how to find them.

They are in the catacombs in Ashford Abbey iirc (the candles that is). Warrior is good but not so much as a secondary since your main cannot wear the heavy type of armor. I did this with my monk and kinda regretted it. I could fight but had none of the warriors' defense really. Of course, if you really want to go that route it won't gimp you or anything all I'm saying is you won't be utilizing everything that class could offer.

Mesmer and Elementalist are both good choices, but so is Monk.

Later on a lot of your skills make you sacrifice some health, and your minion's health always degenerate, so if you can heal you can both keep your minions around longer and heal yourself.

Personally, I think Necro and Mesmer go really well together.

Yeah, my new char is Mo/E.

The path can be found by clicking the quest and looking at your map. The green stars represent each candle and will change as you move onto each one.

Well, I decided to go with elementalist as my second profession, and am enjoying it for now.

I reckon mesmer has to be one of the best Secondary classes in the game. I have it as a secondary for my Ele and my ranger and its great!

My Ele is a Echo Nuker

My ranger is a Power Interruptor or a Resolve Trapper.

I agree. I've used it as a secondary more than any other classes. I made a Necro/Mesmer, Ranger/Mesmer, Elementalist/Mesmer. It goes well with any classes.
