How do I make potions? (spoiler)

I've read a lot of posts about people making special potions or casting magic on weapons/armor etc. How do you do that, and at what level do you have to be to start doing that. I've just joined the mage guild in Balmora is this something I'll get to eventually and I'm just being impatient or have I missed something?

a bit new myself but I know you can get a mixer of some sort and use verious plants, skins and meats to make potions. as for the enchanting as far as I know there is a guy in vivee that can enchant items for you. if there's another way I don't know it.

You can enchant items or recharge them by dropping a filled soul gem on your character, this will bring up the enchant menu. After that I just keep wrecking my gems.

you have to have a high enchant lvl to be able to enchant item successfully so always save before you create. same with alchemy and making potions.

to enchant yourself you need to have a filled soul gem. you "equip" the gem and it opens the enchant window. Your enchant skill, your inelligence and your luck skills all go into determining wether your item will be created sucessfully.

to make potions you use the exact same process exept you "equip" a mortar and pestel. and you alchemy, intelligence, and luck skills determine the likely hood of you succeding.
