ok, this is a weird question, because how it actually makes me feel.
My in-laws are leaving us their house when they pass away, my problem is, although it is a very nice house, and under other circumstances, I would not have a problem living there, but has anyone gotten a house through a will, and lived in it? this would really freak me out. My grandmothers house, where my great grandmother died when we were little, still freaks me out, and as kids we refused to go to her room. am I just being crazy, or would it bother any of you to get a house after your loved ones pass on?

hehe yeah I inherited two places, but since there was a third, evil party involved my brother and I are having to sell them anyway's. I wouldnt have minded living in my dad's house, after all we helped him build the blasted thing and it is double the size of my home. But alas it is not meant to be, the new owners took possesion of the home last month and let me tell you, it was a royal pain emptying out a house that was full of my fathers possesions, the man was a pack rat of sorts. I pray for you everything goes smoothly when that day come's and by all means make sure your will is properly filled out and precise making no room for any kind of interpretation.

I wouldn't want anyone else living in my parent's house but me. I don't believe I could bear to see it sold.

I wouldn't feel weird living in my in-laws house, but I wouldn't want to live there because I like my house better.

Depends what sort of person you are. If you are a positive person then it's good to live in your in-laws house as it will constantly remind you of the good times you had together and you won't ever forget them. If you are a negative person you will keep being reminded that they're dead and be depressed by that and you might even be freaked out about living there. I'd like to live in an inherited house as it would hold special memories etc.
