That's right, someone (or sometwos, or threes... ) is remaking Ultima IV, and is calling it Ultima IV - The Dawn of Virtue. I think Lord British (aka Richard Garriot) has given his royal assent to this project.

U4 was *THE* game that got me hooked on RPGs and despite its age it's still one of the better RPGs I have ever played.

For more information, look here.

If this is true, this is indeed wonderful news !!!

Thank you, Hayashi ! Ultima IV is the game that got me into the world of computer games, and the Ultima series is THE game for me forever.

Too bad Lord B. and company lost the source code for Ultima 7 the best in the series We will probably never get to see that one remade

Sorrt of takes any enthusiasm I had for the Ultima series right out of me...Ultima and Wizardry...the two games I poured a large chunk of my free time into in 1980-82..I hope the update is successful.

It might interest people to know that Ultima 6:

http://www.laymeduck.com/u6/

Ultima 5:

http://icdweb.cc.purdue.edu/%7Efrazieri/home.html

And Ultima 1:

http://www.peroxide.dk/ultima/

Are also being remade, check the link I provided for each if you want to see some of it, the Ultima 1 people have their own engine and already have a "demo" up, and I think the Ultima 5 and 6 remakers are using the Dungeon Siege engine, at least one of them is.
