I am seeing a lot of cool art, especially combat icons, and I'm afraid I just can't compete. But one thing which I've worked out how to do relatively well is make screen backgrounds for DC which look pretty good (ie they are in the right places to look alright with the frames).
I would love to hear any requests people may have for screen backgrounds. I can do a tile sort of background (much more interesting than plain black), or a collage which suits a particular design (more interesting still). Does anyone have any modules for which they would like an appropriate screen background? Of course, there's no compulsion to use it - I'm just looking for an excuse to be creative. |

Yeah...Screen backgrounds are something I haven't really seen in use yet. Way to jump into the untapped market!
Personally, I would love to see a Weathered Stone or ornately carved wood (with some Celtic or Elvish runes carved in) for a background. That would be cool!

the ones you've done in the past, steve, are awesome. i would love to see some with a plant/nature motif.
some other ideas- ocean, either above or below the water line; and some type of volcanic background. i look forward to seeing all of the one you make. -manikus |

Thanks for the ideas, guys. If it's ok with you, Mankius, I'll email them to you and maybe you can put some of them on your site? I don't know how much space you have so this could be a problem. But I'll be doing them in png so they should be only about 1/3 of the size of the bmp ones I did before.

hey steve-
sounds good to me. i've only got 15 mb for the whole site, but still have about 11 mb left. also, ziroc has offered to put up stuff here on ironworks. plus, there's the magic mirror's dungeon craft section. -manikus |

Good idea. I'll get to work on it. I'll let you know when I'm done and I can send you the file. Of course you don't have to use it if you don't want.
I might also make a collage-style screen background with an "undead" theme that would go with the frame. Steve |

i like the idea of an undead theme. actually of themes in general- leafy border/frameset and a forest screen background, etc. you can really set up the ambience and tone for your adventure without saying a word.
