Words of wisdom IV

Experience is a good teacher, but the tuition fees are high.

Experience is a great thing. It allows you to recognise a mistake when you make it again.

A person is wise if they believe only half of what they hear. They're a genius if they know which half to believe.

Safety is the danger we can't sense.

Why are there always so many months left at the end of the money? (as opposed to there being a lot of money left at the end of the month!)

If you're parking illegally, don't switch off your windscreen wipers. They can't put a ticket under the windscreen wiper if it's moving.

The length of a minute is determined by which side of the toilet door you're waiting on.

The worst thing in the world is stupidity combined with diligence.

Bigamy is when you have one too many wives. Monogamy is the same thing.

Great discoveries are always made when someone doesn't follow the instructions.

Why is it that draughts always flow from the toilet towards the dining room?

Stupid ideas always reach fruition the most quickly.

I'm not worried about government debt. It's big enough to look after itself.

I'm more special than other people since there's only one of me but lots of them.

What you think others are thinking about you, you're actually thinking about yourself.

Even in my past life, I refused to believe in reincarnation.

Must we always find a solution? Can't we enjoy the problem just for a little while?

Most archaeologists' carriers lie in ruins.

Humanity didn't fight its way to the top of the food chain only to become vegetarians!

Computers will never take over the role of books. I mean you can't exactly stand on a DVD disc to reach something on a high shelf.

My friends used to bang everything that moved, but I didn't feel it necessary to place such restrictions upon myself.

The perfect woman is deaf-mute, a nymphomaniac and her father owns a nice little pub.

Heh, some of the older "words of wisdom" are pretty cool too. Gotta love the mixture of humour and "wisdom" I'm sure there's more around than I posted, but I can't remember the topic titles so can't search for them.

Oh BTW, thanks for the welcome back Gangrell, but I don't know how much I'll be around....this place isn't what it used to be...and I see the old words of wisdom are still not popular
