If an NPC is charmed, are they more easily pickpocketed? It's just I tried to pickpocket the bartender at the Umpani place when he was charmed, and I pickpocketed successfully quite a lot before he caught me. And yet my character didn't have the pickpocket skill, plus the game has the 1.2.4 patch or whichever the latest one is, since that's the one that came with the CD.

It makes sense if you could pickpocket even without the skill.. I can't pickpocket with my rogue at all with a skill of 12 Only tried with Burz though..

On the newest patch, you roll the (number of attempt before a bust) upon meeting the NPC. This doesn't change, even if you reload the game, unless you come back with a different score in PP. EXCEPT when you charm anyone. Then a new number is rolled, and requires a lower score (inc nil). BUT regardless, if you take too much stuff, they'll have noticed by the next time you go see them.

I play on Patch 001b.

Uh? Really? I've never had that problem, I'm playing on the latest patch, but when I pickpocketed (which is different from shoplifting, btw) I could just go on like before... I never sold them their own stuff back, so that might be a problem, but they were never angry at me for PPing them...

Cheers
Philipp

Then that must only ralate to Shoplift, which i've never done...only PP. I did a little checking on PP with the patch, but i went back to the old patch before long after, so i dunno exactly what it takes for them to notice.

My Bard ( Lvl 17 ) had a PP of 81 ( Skill + 2 Bracers ) . I have earned thousands of GP but I always thought that there must be items with the NPC's .
I wonder what item I can get with PP and how big the chance is to get it .
In my current party I build up a PP-specialist too because I found out that this is a good way for a party without alchemist to earn money

That's what I don't know, Scatter. I tried all NPC's in Arnika and Trynton but I only got gold. I do it 2 or 3 times each NPC . ( No Shoplifting up to now ).
Must I try it more often or is this the wrong area to get items ?

P.S.
In an earlier game I tried to PP the key from the Cell-Guy ( sorry, forgot the name ) in Rapax Castle but I always got Ale or Money or other things. But I never got the key.
