Hving been through this game a few times now, and going for it again, i thinght i´d ask for opinions on what is the best way to kill *STUFF*.

-Efreets
Not so many of these, and singular ones fall easily, just that one encounter was a bit bothersome.
Ended up summoning fire elementals for meat and bringing righteous acid rain down into the melee.
Any better tricks?

-Dragon
What an nuisance.

-Xvimpsie the evil glowing half ogre lookalike
Electricity seems to bite, and with luck, highly enchanced weapons...
Anything more?

-High level undead
Turn undead doesn´t seem to cut it, so it seems all i´m left with are preparation spells and brute force.
Hmmm?

-Large amounts of driders
Fire elementals, my all time favourite summons, did it quite nicely...
With acid rain and stuff...
Uhm?

-The lost followers
I hate resorting to cheap AI abusing by running around the targeted creature to avoid taking any damage at all. :/
Beating up the summoner mage to begin with seemed to be a nice start, but those fighters certainly could take some beating...

OK, from the top

Efreet
Electicity does miracles. Fire elementals are totally ineffective against Efreet because they are of the same element. Try using Fireshield Blue and pound with Cones of Cold and the like.

Dragons
First few are nothing, just an intro. The Guardian is something else. Try being prepared with Call Lightning and Static and then when he's there, pound away with Lower Resistance, Malison, Emotion: Despair and then with heavy artillery. He is immune to Acid, and is quite resillient to fire I believe.

Iyachtu Xvim?
Lower Resistance, and then spread the party, start hitting with heavy damage wide area spells like Delayed Fireball and Horrid Wilting.

High Level Undead
Turn Undead is useless in HoF. But Undead affecting spells seem to cut it. But I never had any trouble with them, just cleave through them like you do with any normal folk.

Driders
The game tells you, electricity. Geedle's Electric Loop is one of the best spells in the game, and here is where it shines.

Lost Followers
By far the hardest fight in the game. Way harder than the final one. Critical hits with bows, axes, fists and oodles of spells and summons really bite. Come prepared, come in force and when things look bad, Holy Word is your friend.

Static charge and call lightning (though the latter cant be used indoors) bypass electrical resistance. And very few creatures are resistant to electricity. Those two can be helpful with most creatures.

A few things to add:

With the Gaurdian, I actually had him commit suicide. This may be a big hunk of cheese, but I had my solo sorcerer cast mirror image, stoneskin, and both fireshields. Gaurdian attacks, and takes 40+ damage while the mage just stands there and tries not to panic. If that's too cheesy for you, Mordenkainan's Sword cuts through his AC very well.

I didn't find the lost followers to be too hard, though I did use some reload knowledge. Be sure to grab the Cera Sumat as soon as it appears to make use of it. I summoned high defense guys, like drowned ones, to occupy the duergar (who I found to be by far the most lethal). Two mages with Mord's Swords can easily chop up both enemy mages before they can do much damage, and then it is a matter of cleaning up a gaggle of powerful fighters. Occupy the monk with a cleric, since he doesn't have much offensive capability, and take down the archer in close range with a warrior. The duergar is easily taken out with lots of acid.

The idea was to have a meatshield (a meatshield that doesn´t die too quickly to fire damage) catch the efreet's attention while i nuke the bunch with large AoE spells.

Not true against lesser undead as a cleric can simply vaporize them, but against higher level undead totally correct. Better to use symbols of hopelessness, sunbeam and similiar spells.

This brings me to another question.
Are the lost followers alive or are they undead?

good question.
Apparantly undead since they can be affected by the undead ward spell (they seem too high for normal turn undead). But...
for some they are *not* affected by UW. At least not all of them. Might be a patch issue

The trick to beating the lost followers is:

Summon every elemental you can, get at least one of each kind if possible. They can hit the lost followers and are pretty stout in combat. (Last time I played, took several reloads, but my single water elemental creamed one of the mages.)

Xvim is completely immune to fire, never forget that.

Snort, even the Archer guy of the five can take an earth elemental 1 on 1.

Oh well, i suppose the mages are a bit weaker, but it´ll still be problematic as the elmentals tend to wander about, who know´s who they´ll be attacking...
